The long awaited updated RCPath Tissue pathways for diagnostic Cytopathology has just been issued
This comprehensive document gives guidance on the handling, processing and reporting of cytology samples. It will be of invaluable help for all those involved in laboratories and dealing with cytology material.
The new document, updated from the original 2010 one, amongst many changes, advocates the adoption of standardised reporting systems, such as those in international use in urine and salivary gland cytology. It also lays out in simple to follow flow diagrams advice on handling and processing differing cytology sample types.
Several BAC Executive members were involved in its writing, with the BAC, amongst other organisations, commenting upon it.
