For the past several years, the International Molecular Cytopathology Meeting held annually in Naples, Italy, has focused on providing a perspective on the evolution of molecular pathology in the field of cytopathology with updates on cytological and molecular classifications. This year with the virtual format of the Ninth Molecular Cytopathology Meeting, we are aiming to provide a more diverse and international perspective to the practice of molecular cytopathology with participation from across the world.
The meeting will be held as two half-day sessions, a morning session in the US that will correspond to an afternoon session in Europe, to allow maximum participation from most countries.
Day 1 of the meeting will feature sessions on Thyroid, Pancreatobiliary, Salivary Gland, Lung and and a special session on COVID-19;
Day 2 will feature sessions on Cervical cytology, Urine, Serous Fluid and Breast, Immunocytochemistry.
Each session will be introduced by a Moderator presenting an update on the cytological classification followed by one or two presentations on the molecular updates on the same topic. Each session will be followed by an interactive discussion session, including the moderator and speakers, responding to and discussing questions and comments from the global audience. With the virtual format, we are hoping for a novel and unique way to make this meeting as interactive as possible and give the audience a chance to engage with the speakers.
