The BAC are delighted to announce the programme for the Spring Tutorial 2023, which will be held in person at Guy’s Hospital, London. The tutorial will incorporate a series of talks in the morning with microscopy workshops in the afternoon.
The first presentation by Philippa Pearmain will focus on the interpretation and categorisation of cervical cytology slides for invasive cervical cancer audit.
The slide workshop will provide participants the opportunity to review and categorise cancer audit cases followed by a discussion session on how standardised the categorisations are and may be of particular interest to anyone undertaking slide reviews in cervical cytology.
The following presentations are on diagnostic cytopathology. The presentation by Prof. Danijela Vrdoljak-Mozetič will focus on cytology of the peritoneal serous fluid in gynaecological oncology and Dr Maria Buttice is presenting on pancreaticobiliary cytopathology: diagnostic approach and reporting terminology.
The diagnostic cytology microscopy workshop will cover a range of samples including serous fluids, biliary tract, head and neck and respiratory tract, providing a range of interesting cases for trainees as well as practicing pathologists and biomedical scientists to review.
