Inequalities in Healthcare Alliance - Letter to the Prime Minister
The BAC are proud to be one of 92 IHA members to sign this letter to the Prime Minister today
- As a member of the Inequalities in Health Alliance (IHA), we've co-signed a letter to the Prime Minister calling for an explicit health inequalities strategy, that considers the role of every department and every available policy lever in tackling health disparities
- The best way to improve health is to focus on the factors which shape it. As a member of the IHA, we believe a cross-government strategy is the only way to address the underlying causes of health inequalities
- Many deaths could have been prevented if there had been better levels of general health before the pandemic. That's why, as a member of the IHA, we're calling for a cross-government strategy to reduce health inequalities.
“The BAC unequivocally supports the aims of the IHA and, in particular, the creation of a cross-government strategy to reduce health inequalities. Many of our members work in the cervical screening programme and are active, with government agencies, in encouraging screening uptake across all social groups.”
